The UBM Advanced Manufacturing Expo in Anaheim bills itself as the nation’s largest annual advanced design and manufacturing event, boasting over 20,000 attendees and 2,000 exhibitors. This annual event includes five co-located, independent shows; MDM West (medical design & manufacturing), West Pack (packaging technology), ATX (automation technology), Design & Manufacturing (engineering & manufacturing), and Plastec West (plastic technology & manufacturing), creating crossover opportunities for exhibitors and attendees alike.
“Globally, the advanced manufacturing community is entering a new dynamic phase as it becomes more integrated with the adoption of AI, ML and IoT,” said Suzanne Deffree, Brand Director, Intelligent Systems & Design at UBM, and all were well represented at this year’s show. Additionally, new to this year’s show was cutting-edge technology showcased in the New Tech Base Camp, interactive design prototyping in the Design Dome, and career advice in the Career Zone.
Steve Rochman of Revotech observed that automation and robots were much more emphasized this year.
